Web Beans provides a set of services for Java EE, by defining, on top of the EE programming model.

One great advantage of the contextual model is that it allows stateful components to be treated like services! The client need not concern itself with managing the lifecycle of the component it is using, nor does it even need to know what that lifecyle is.
